Hi Brian, I'm another engineer who worked on Rapier. I was in the 1220 lab designing the guidance computer (lamentably pathetic by today's standards but quite advanced at the time with the components available). I visited trials at Aberporth and was also shipped out to Woomera to assist with problems and witness a Meteor being shot down for the benefit of the Australian army. Oh, the nostalgia of youthful days!
