  1. Many thanks fot this manual, it is very helpful for me as i am restoring one . Turning the crank by hand ( cylinder haed removed) , i note a remarkable sound from the alternator. I note some backlash on the bearing next to the pulley, is that the same at yours? Regards, Herman.
  2. Thanks for your info Richard. Every bit of info helps me learning more about it. I discovered this unit only 2 days ago in a farmer's shed where it stood 15 years. He wanted to get rid of it and i was the lucky guy!
  3. Hi all, I recently acquired a very small portable radio battery charger used during WW2. The brand is Edgar Westbury, British made. It needs some TLC and i want to know as much as possible of this little marvel. The engine is a 15CC 4-stroke engine driving a small alternator followed by a rectifier. Rated charge current is 8A max. Hope someone can help. The picture shows how he looked when i bought it.
  4. Wat ik wel weet is dat er de laatste maanden gericht dit soort privé collecties gestolen worden, dus wees op je hoede. Om die reden ben ik erg voorzichtig met het etaleren van mijn specials uit WW2
  5. Dat weet ik niet zeker, het is gevestigd in de oude officiersmess die naast de ingang van de legerplaats is. Er stond vorige week nog een uitgebreid stuk in de krant hier over het leed en het verdriet dat hij heeft.

  7. Hello all, Today i was so lucky to discover & buy such a nice little charger. It need some TLC but that is no problem, i love to do that. Dismantling the engine's cylinder to repair the valves ( the exhaust one was stuck) i examined the ignition and discovered a missing ignition coil, see picture. Now i am searching for this coil to make this little beauty alive again after many years. Any form of help is welcome that leads me to this part. With kind regards, Herman van Rees the Netherlands
