  1. It's a new build hull with a Scimitar turret on it. The turret looked much better on the hull it was on originally though!
  2. The wheels are date stamped, look for a small circle with 2 numbers stamped into it like 78 or 05. That's the year of manufacture. Chris
  3. It's true that the worst looking and most battered wheels seem to last forever, but the nicest ones with the moulding seams seem to last just minutes out on the road! I fitted a new set of wheels, 2005 dated, when I restored my Sabre in 2008 and I've not lost one yet, touch wood, so I think the trick is finding the newest ones possible. Also try to match the circumference when fitting used ones in pairs. Chris
  4. There is a re-rubbering project ongoing, more details when the tooling is made. Chris
  5. CB2 is a crew box for 2 radios. IB2 is an interconnecting box for 2 radios. There is an IB3 but it is rarely used.
  6. This is all you need, with a power cable, for a very basic intercom system... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clansman-Vehicle-Harness-Kit-3-Radio-ANR-set-SPECIAL-OFFER-/120982377290?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item1c2b1c934a Chris
  7. Look on eBay, a seller called PTS Norfolk have a lot of good bits.
  8. Very nice, but where is the Wolf spare wheel mount going? The rest of the vehicle looks too good to have non standard items like that fitted!
  9. Richard, You need the Merlin report to fill in the blanks. Write to the address I gave you! Chris
  10. Hi Richard, I'll see if I can send you something which may answer some of the electrical questions. The generator light does indeed come on when the system kicks in, so that's working fine. Chris
  11. I've told him about this thread and I'm sure he'll be in touch soon. Chris
  12. Richard, The bits with the plastic clips are SA80 brackets. You've got the barrel clip in one photo and the butt clip in another. Chris
  13. I put them on the mirror mount, it's easy to remove with just one bolt at a show etc. Chris
  14. It means it's been cleaned, tested and repainted if required, in other words not reconditioned but refurbished.
  15. I do not know when the MoD is planning on retiring the rest of the fleet, but around 10 years ago they did a life extension program where around 1000 of them were fitted with diesel engines. Sabres were not converted and so were disposed of in 2004, along with a few hundred Spartans, Sultans etc which were not converted. The majority of these went for scrap as the market for these vehicles is limited and the MoD wanted the money. The same happened to the Strikers, where other than the handful of petrol vehicles which trickled out over the years, the entire diesel fleet was scrapped or used for hard targets. Just recently they have scrapped a load more, deciding it was easier to just have the money there and then than have the hassle of selling them complete. I was told that any future vehicles which might go for diposal will be bought back by BAE Systems so no idea if any will come onto the market in future. As for spares, you'll need the obvious, belts, filters, pads, wheels, sprockets, track, engines (at least a couple), gearbox or 2. Chris
  16. I only know of one genuine diesel converted Spartan in private hands, and it's not the one that was for sale recently. The number of diesel vehicles in private hands is probably less than 10, so not really worth worrying about!
  17. For shipping you need to talk to Bob Grundy, who is on this forum. He ships a lot of CVRTs around the world. If you were to buy the Spartan on ebay he could collect it, do the paperwork and send it out in a container. http://www.milweb.net/dealers/trader/british_military_vehicles/ Chris
  18. There's a guy on the Alvis Fighting Vehicle Society forum who imported a Striker to Australia, so might be worth asking him. As for finding one, try milweb .. There's even one on eBay at the moment, but I'll sell you mine for $50000! Chris
  19. Excellent news! Now to solve the mystery of how it got there!
  20. Please see the extensive thread on this here: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?33188-Stolen-GMC-Bolster-Truck-from-W-amp-P&highlight=stolen+bolster
