  1. I for one really hope it doesn't close - its an amazing set-up. Regarding the exhibit closing permanently: I dare say a few of the more interesting vehicles are on lease from other collections...
  2. Hello, In the end we took the advice and modified bullet connectors. We did solder a test example - but it was time consuming. Cheers, FB
  3. I visit the front page on 1 out of every 100 visits to HMVF. I have all my bookmarks saved for the forums. The news articles are very interesting - but they aren't changed on a regular basis, also you have moved the classified section to the forums.
  4. If you browse for the M548 the product demo is a video of the Tank Museum rides vehicle
  5. Thanks for the quick reply - also for the link to the full story :-)
  6. I was doing some internet searching today and came accross the following website: http://army-uk.info/ I have never heard of them before - it seems a bit strange to use the .info prefix for such a large company... Google Maps Location
  7. Hey, I have been trawling the internet and on the few pictures I have found nothing has been fitted: FV102 Gallery FV102 Striker, Jacques Littlefield Collection Could not find a FV102 with anything fitted between the rear headlight cluster and the mud guard. Cheers, FB
  8. Thats an amazing video - on the way home last summer I saw a Challenger 2 complete with police escort take out several road signs (near Bovington).
  9. Hello, We are currently converting some clansman "staff user" boxes. We have removed the old wires but we are in need of the circular crimp connectors used on the clansman kit. Any suggestions on alternatives? They fit over the pin connections (mark O, W & B) on the bellow circuit board: Example item on auction site. Cheers, FB
  10. Hey Al, It wasn't one of the museum vehicles I had seen. Interesting fact- we just received a new "Big Wheel" ferret today - nothing inside. I would only want to use the ferret shell - I would look to put a Diesel engine into it with an automatic box. Convert the brakes to air-brakes. I would also like to add some more modern "tech" to it... Very similar to the museums Saladin (as mentioned earlier in this conversation).
  11. Well, If I was able to get the shell of a ferret (something fit for the scrap man). I would consider trying to modernise it... But how would people suggest?
  12. Good Afternoon, Q: Has anyone ever fitted a non-standard (modern) engine to their military vehicle? Many Thanks, FB
  13. Currently in the Tank Museums workshops are the two M548 ride vehicles. With a 432 coming in at the end of the week.
  14. Just to update people on a few of the vehicles: Rhino - Resprayed - currently located in the museums Tamiya hall. Khalid - Resprayed (amazing paint-job) - currently located in the museums Tamiya hall. There are also others pictured that now reside within the museum.
  15. Hello Supertrack, You have some massive project there. I think Adrian (amongst others) is the best person to give you Advice and Information as they have been there and done that. However, do you have a source for all of your missing parts? Cheers, FB
  16. There are a number of people on this forum (including myself) that are volunteers at the Museum. We are trained by the Museum - we take part in the majority of activities (its really worth volunteering). The Tiger appeal seems to be going well (they have already raised £2.5k). There is a case for support of the Project page which I believe contains some more technical details. Cheers, FB
  17. Hey guys, As a few of you have talked about the "Behind the scenes kind of thing", the Museum has come up with a new experience "Access All Areas". This gives you, amongst other things: May interest some people, although that has nothing to do with the Tiger. Cheers, FB
  18. Hello Steve, Evidently the Tiger is an incredibly popular vehicle with visitors to the Museum and its annual Tankfest show, such demand surely proves people want to see the Tiger remain operational for years to come. Many Thanks, JPH
  19. Hello, I searched the forums and got nothing regarding the Tank Museums Tiger 131 appeal - surprising. Anyhow, I thought maybe people would be interesting in the new appeal the Tank Museum have launched: http://www.tankmuseum.org/Projects Its important to keep it running. Many Thanks, JPH
  20. This is a really interesting topic, however, may I pose a question? "What are the legal implications of removing a wreck from a firing range?". As someone involved in the restoration of Military vehicles I think it's amazing these wrecks and been given a new lease of life. However, how are people getting permission to remove these vehicles from military firing ranges?
  21. Really interesting, although this may be a bit of a thread hijack! - Before we go to far, I am going to create a new thread.

  23. Thanks for you assistance, He was in "the desert" apparently, does that narrow it down?
