  2. If you book tickets in advance you get 10% off, which is a good deal. You can ring up or possibly buy them on-line.
  3. Just to let everyone know about Tankfest 2011, more details here.

    Fake M1 Abrams

I would like to continue the theme of "Visual Modification's". A "STUG 432": Click here for a very interesting conversion.

    Fake M1 Abrams

Good Post, I think the Jericho vehicles look a great deal more realistic.

    Fake M1 Abrams

Fake was the term used to describe them elsewhere - I think they are labelled as "Visual Modification" by the company that Loans them. (I will re-label the topic). Here is another "Visual Modification" from the same company: Also this is the M1 from the rear: All credit for these images must go to armytrucks.com

    Fake M1 Abrams

Interestingly this topic has been raised on a number of forums - the same vehicles have been used on a great deal of films (Jarhead...), the other forums have also labelled them as Centurions.

    Fake M1 Abrams

Centurion, with a central driving position? Isn't it a Chieftain?
  9. So I have been watching a series called Jericho (very good). There was is an M1 Abrams in one episode, but it didn't look right and it sounded familiar. Here it is: Can anyone spot any problems with this Vehicle....

    Fuchs

What you want to do is search for "Tpz Fuchs" it may focus your search a little bit more - there appears to be a great deal about cars coming up.
  11. I think you may draw a blank on this one. Similar questions have been asked on several other forums for people wanting to make 3D models and they have had to use reference images instead. You may be lucky here: http://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/weapons/machine-guns/page/1/ Although I have had a good look and couldn't see it listed - maybe post a request on their forum?

    Fuchs

Yes and maybe, Yes post war German armour does come up for sale on the private market - Leopard and some others. Maybe, I have never seen a Fuch's for sale on Milweb, I did a web search and couldn't find any currently offered for sale.
  13. A really good read (and watch) - any publicity for Marcus is a massive bonus. But then: "There may soon be more vehicles for Shaun and others to get their hands on...." "Among the cuts: the entire Harrier fleet and 40% of the Army's tanks." Maybe the harriers may enter the surplus market, but a Challenger 2? :nut: The guy in the video seemed like a good ambassador.
  14. Cheers Andy, I will have a butchers. Found: Cable Out of stock as it stands, but it does give us the FV number that I required.
  15. Montie, a few months back we had a discussion about the headlights for your vehicle - I said how they were the same as leopard. I have managed to find a link to a website that sells them - if you ever had the misfortune of needing a replacement: Replacement Headlight Cheers, FB
  16. Hello, I want to know if I can get / where I can get the white braided cable that is used in British military vehicles? Sorry if this is a stupid question, to further clarify this is the type of cable that is used to wire up the passenger lights in the rear of a 432... Cheers, FB
  17. Hello, I recently received the gift of a Saracen MK 1-6 Manual. However, this manual didn't contain half a rainforests worth of trees - it is a digital reproduction. It also costs a fraction of its paper counterpart - at £9.90. The quality of the scans are very good and all manuals are fully indexed and searchable meaning its quick and easy to find what you are looking for. The added bonus is the Tank Museum receives a donation for every manual purchased. So far the company has produced User Handbooks for the following vehicles: Centurion MK 3,5 & 6 Centurion MK 7 - 10 Centurion BARV Charioteer MK 6-8 Cheiftain MK 1 - 3 Churchill III & IV Cromwell I Cromwell VII Cruiser Tank MK 1 & 1A (A9 & A10) Ferret Scout Car FV432 MK1 & MK 1/1 Humber Scout Car Saladin MK 2 Saracen MK 1 - 6 T34 Valentine X And technical handbooks for the following: Centurion Mk 1,2 & 3 Chieftain Mk 5-12 Churchill III-IV Saladin Mk 2 Even if you don't own that specific vehicle the manuals make interesting reading. I recommend people visit their website for further details: www.afvhandbooks.com Many Thanks, FB
  18. A very interesting topic, dials of this age are normally radioactive so if you are looking to repair it yourself then that may be somthing you wish to consider.
  19. Hello, Glad you found a video of the Leopard - its a great tank. It must be a standard fitting - I will check when I get to work tomorrow and report back. Cheers, FB
  20. Welcome, Just a few links to get you started: Marcus Glenn - Saracen Spares Saracen User Handbook - £9.90 (Computerised Version) Pictures are always well received. Cheers, FB
  21. They are the same headlight cases that are used on Leopard 1 and the M2 Amphibious Rig. - They have been on sale on eBay in the past (cannot see any on there now). Can you measure the diameter of the lens?
  22. Searchable PDF documents aren't limited to the 432. Here: http://www.afvhandbooks.com/index.html These contain searchable manuals for a large number of vehicles - at a cheaper price than buying printed manuals.
  23. Hello, So the objective of this post is to get an idea of the vehicles that are still left on the firing ranges - any identifying features and a grid reference. Is there such a list already in existence? Cheers, FB
  24. Out of interest Stone are these Vikings anywhere near Salisbury Plain? Cheers, FB
