    Museum ?

yes overlook , but before the de Groot collection moved in.
  2. Where is the damn parking in this town?
  3. the spotlights on some WW2 tanks are 24 volt , they could be hand held like in a weasel or operated from inside the turret , if they plugged them in on top of the turret.
  4. No Piere I don`t have a picture , but it was shown to me on an I phone last year . it resides now in the North of the Netherlands.
  5. The conectors on the survivors have been crudely welded with Stainless Steel , that is wy you still can see the marks on the Hull , s they are the grinded shine spots between the rusty sides . on the surviving ones on the sides every single conector had been welded on , by the look of the pattern . Also if you look up pictures from the Sherman VC from Amersfoort , you can see in the older pictures that it still had the tracks on , and now only the welds are there to be seen .
  6. AEC Militants also use the same set up , this may widen your search
  7. It is the Van type , the WD number should also start with a V instead of a Z
  8. There where different methods of course , but what I can see on most range Shermans that I have seen in the past , is that the end conectors are welded on the hull, and after VE day grinded off again . the marks were still there.
  9. The orriginal Vendor is sill in the trade , you could give them a Call . They imported several vehicles from the Swiss Army.
  10. And is there any news ? did people speak to the organizers at Stoneleigh ? if there is not a bit of cooperation , then I will as well after going for a long time to W&P look for other Shows .
  11. I heard from several people who bid on lots , also spares , that they got a message that even after they had the winning bid , it was cancelled. ?? Can they do that ?
  12. Nick , would these anti tank versions be MWG`s ? because not all were MWG . and the number from the MWG is so low , that it should fit in the 2nd contract . I don`t have the contract cards , Bart Vanderveen had them , and after he passed away , they went to army Cars , will be auctionned today ?? Barts archive was donated to Army Cars , so everybody could read things in it for their own research , so wy now getting auctionned ?
  13. Just looking back at another thread , Scandinavian Bedford Chassis number 10227 Contract number T 8102 again ???
  14. Hmm , funny thing is my MWG has number 1423 , so MWG`s were only made under the first contract ? only 50 units are supposed to be made . My MWD has number 3116 , and according to Vauxhall it was produced in November 1939 ( replied by them in 1984, when they even send me a lot of factory pictures from wartime Bedfords) Body has plate on it with 1939 , but no contract or WD number stamped in it .Long time ago We (Bart Vanderveen and myself)tried to figure out Chassis numbers from the various Bedford types , but numbers jumped sometimes with 50 to 130 numbers up , and later down , so we gave up in the end , Vauxhall only had months on the delivery charts , so you could look up a chassis number , and they could tell you which month it was deliverred, maybe it has to do with the external body manufacturers.
  15. Yes all wing mirror blocks are taken off Belgian Firefly`s , On mine I could also still see the stainless weld for it , Centurion`s have the same mount for that mirror , just shorter arm, so look for a wreck .
  16. Strange , Collectors know the correct value, so who has been bidding , these prices are way above everything that even don`t sell at millweb , 1/2 tracks never go for that price , even if perfect. ?????
  17. They are for sure Sherman VC , so converted M4A4`s 3 piece transmission housing also points in that direction , wheels on a IC are very close to each other.
  18. it has been moved to an indoor storage , it is still alive.
  19. According to the owners there is a bid for 250000,- from a well known person. So that is why that is the starting bid.
  20. Talking about not much bidding , the thing were there is a bid on like the CCKW and Dodge`s , the price now is right , but if you add the extra cost for the auctioneers , etc they are already way over priced. Read the terms and conditions first
  21. Danny , this depends on when the body was made , early ones are without , later ones also vary , got a sample tail gate over here , come and check it out
  22. The Number looks to fresh , can somebody make a picture of their chassis number , to see if the font , and size of the numbers are the same ? then we can compare.
