  1. Niels I fully agree with you , these Dozers where used , and have a history , the only Centaurs with battle history are the support howitzers from the Marines in Normandy .And only 2 of them survived.
  2. Adrian , I have somewhere the metal bit without lamp , if that is enough for you then I will dig it out .
  3. Wartime tail light to put on a gun Barrel
  4. The Matador Engines I cleaned where painted grey , rocker covers and sump where black , but found another one which was all grey , exept dynamo and Starter .
  5. It is etched Aluminium , and rivited to the bonnet , it is the same diagram as in the Manual.
  6. It is a wiring diagram which is fitted to the bonnet , Lubrication is at passenger side behind bonnet side pannel.
  7. Hi , I was there as you can witness in the previous pictures , had a good time , but have some thoughts about the new organizing. First a lot of entrants subscriptions could not be found ? second no marshals to control the layout , we where in the WW2 field , but we were surrounded by Post war vehicles ? Showers and toilets OK , same as last year , so why 10 pounds extra? Another thing that an onyes me a bit is that all civy vehicles have to leave the Field every day , and others just put a magnetic thing on the side with Bundeswehr , or ISAF, UN , and or Ford K `s with Berlin Camouflage, they can stay on the Field , and drive around the whole week.
  8. it was a field mod , there is a WW2 picture with this mod
  9. Pete even the Canadian built 7 1/2 ton recovery trailer has 2 ford master cylinders actuated by 2 air wheel brake booster like on a Diamond truck , and then 2 1 1/2 inch wheel cylinders per side
  10. Yes the canadian trailer has a Ford Master cilinder , with 1 1/2 " CMP wheel cilinders , everyting on the axle is Ford Marked.
  11. It is a Canadian Built trailer , I got one restored exept for the pumps , so if you need dimensions for the box or rear tray , then I can help.
  12. . Were owners in UK approached about this film are is it all French owner vehicles? The cardboard cut outs are the most authentic ones ! regards, Richard Richard , I got a letter from somebody in France asking for my2 Aeroscreen Bedfords and AEC (anyway has to be a rounded cab one which I don`t have ) , and gave him the price for transport 3oo km each way , plus petrol for on the set , and didn`t even talk about taking leave myself , and the reply was : Euhm , but then I can`t make any profit ! So the prop guys want to make double fees over the vehicle owners without doing something themselves. For UK based vehicles , maybe the Ferry is already too much .
  13. I straightenned mine myself , used a jeep trailer axle which I fastenned to a workbench , and then put a jack on the workbench to push carefully on the outside of the rim on several positions to press it straight again .
  14. I will give it a go as well . Looks promissing.
  15. Front brake cilinders are the same on the MK1 militant , and Matador, Plenty available over here , because in a local yard there where about a 100 Militants cut up , but the axles are saved.
  16. off topic , Gerry , I can see in the list GMC tooltruck with winch , but to my knowledge they were never produced , just the open canvas version. the ones I have seen have a non strenghtened chassis , so must have been ordinary cargo trucks , Compressor trucks had again a different strengtenned chassis .
  17. I usually search for history under the civvy paint , from all my vehicles my C15 had factory olive drab with outside overpainted beown . my Royal enfield CO was brown as well , but all my other canadian & British vehicles where in different shades of olive drab , so they went in these collors again .
  18. Howard , I think your Chevrolet has a switch on the dash for the convoy light , My 11 cab does , later 13 cab Chev`s have a dip switch in the chassis on the right hand rear wheel arch .
  19. So best solution is to book in on another less trouble show , Yes I have to be back at work the monday morning , so I have to have one of the night ferries back . Wy do they not respond in a more apropiate way to the People who make their show, and get them proffit .
  20. This box sits in front of the radio Shelf in the righr rear back of a MK 1* Canadian Carrier it sits on a 45 degree mounting plate . Very rare item , because they are attached with a webbing strap .
  21. The Big G can also be found on US Shermans who had their casting done by General steel . A grizzly is easy to be identified by the little hatch in the floor in front of the gunner for the Snake device.
  22. Another way is to spray the knobs with a 2 pac paint , and fill the white letters in with white spirrit based paint afterwards , whipe off eccessive paint , and when almost fully dry whipe off remaining paint , works always good .
  23. Is it just me , but it looks like they don`t want anything on display , because for every vehicle extra or bike , you have to pay extra , so in my view people will just be bringing the most convenient thing for them , just to see old friends. If this would have been a new show there would be very few subscriptions . Traders seem to be very few either.
