  1. Thank You Richard for this info. Is this carb prone to flooding if the throttle pedal is pumped?
  2. Hi All, Calling all Bedford truck owners, past and present. What's the correct or preferred way to start your vehicle both cold and when hot. I've a OYC with standard carb. I do not have a driver's manual. Thanks Jim.
  3. Thanks to all for their valued input. I've now bought an original manual :). Jim
  4. Hi Tom, Thanks for your message. Yes, interested if the price is right, how much are you wanting for it please? Cheers, Jim.
  5. Hi All, Wondered if anyone here might have a redundant workshop/operator's manual for a Bedford OY with the 28hp engine which I could purchase?. I beleive they are available commercially but thought I'd run it by here before trying elsewhere. Thanks for looking. Jim
  6. Richard, Just looked at the pic and does the pedestrian door on the side tie up with the separate forward compartment for the genny? Could that door have been to separately access the genny, separate from the main area to the rear?
  7. Yes Richard, You are quite right, its all one now, partly converted to camper but looks authentic from the outside. Do you or anyone else know of any other's? Cheers, Jim.
  8. The seller says the body was made by Austin as an x-ray lab? Its a door at the back, one on the left hand side, (again a pedestrian door) and then at the front right hand side a 'drop down door', a bit similar to a front unload horse trailer. Except, with this door it is meant to hinge down until parallel with the ground, at which point a metal prop frame swings under and supports it. Dimensions roughly 13' x 7,3". Only have a very poor pic of it at the moment, here it is
  9. Thank you David for a great explanation of things. Helps a newbie like me no end. Jim
  10. Hi, Been spending again and got myself a Bedford OY. I am completely new to these or any other type or WW2 era trucks. What's the differences between models?, there is quite a lot on this forum referring to Bedford MW's and I can see similarities with the OY, but they also differ. Any inputs much appreciated. Thanks, Jim
  11. Hi, Does anyone here know anything about the Bedford OY mobile x-ray truck that has been sold today at the auction up in Lancs? Thanks, Jim.
  12. Hi All, I'm on the lookout for these splinter screens, ideally three? Its for a ferret but these were probably fitted to other MV's. Thanks in advance, Jim
  13. Hi all, Now then this I suspect is a long shot but if you don't ask!.....I am on the lookout for a blanking plug for the hand crank aperture located on the sloping rear armour of a Daimler ferret. Thanks Jim.
  14. A big thank you to Simon, aka marvinthemartian for fitting me up with the lamp surround :). Jim
  15. Hi All, I'm after the headlamp surround for a ferret. Its the part held on with 4 small clamps. I think they were also fitted to other MV's. Anyone got one lying around?? Thanks, Jim
  16. Hi All, I am on the lookout for a headlamp surround for the headlamp of a ferret. Got everything except the surround. I think these headlamps were used of other MV's of the 1950's and 60's. Can anyone help please? Cheers, Jim
