  1. That's quite the frost crack... Jarrod.
  2. I am thinking you may need a tiny bit (1 degree) of rake/relief (forget what it's called?) on that cutter, or else it won't cut. I had my valve seat cutters sharpened some time ago and think that was the angle. Too much and it bites in a leaves marks. Jarrod.
  3. I see the boys were from Nanango, Queensland, Australia. I passed through there just a couple of weeks ago to attend a large heritage rally. Thanks for the great post. Jarrod.
  4. I have found it possible to blow the seals on one of those same pullers without heat. In the same kit I have (Chinese copy) there was a solid version. (basically, just a huge bolt). That has never failed me. Plenty of quiet lurkers following with interest and wishing you well with your endeavours. Jarrod.
  5. Lift gearboxes have bronze wormwheels and run for decades on 460 / 680 steam cylinder oil. (which is never changed, only topped up!) Until recently I serviced one (for 22 years) which was installed in 1927. The wormwheel is still like new. Jarrod.
  6. Please forgive me if this is a repost, or somehow off topic. It shows the many trials of crossing the USA with a convoy at that time. If only they had "talkies" then... Jarrod. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZJKxkfF1D8
  7. I'm thinking New Zealand. Check the number plates. (or am I mistaken?) Jarrod.
  8. Jarrod here, from sunny Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. I discovered this forum by a link to a WW1 vehicle rebuild here on the Australian HCVC forum; one of the Goslings' trucks. I wish to keep up with the restorations as detailed on the HMVF, while mostly keeping quiet, post-wise. Personally, I have restored a c.1957 International ASW120 4x4 pickup / ute, ( US model is S120 4x4) although I'm unsure if the military used any. This is on full registration and regularly driven, along with a 1951 Studebaker Champion sedan, which doubles as the family's second car. Militarily, I'm most interested in WW2 Studebakers, Internationals and the recreation from scant parts of WW1 trucks. Thanks for letting me in, Jarrod.
