Well done looking good made a nice job of fabricating the seat supports, will you build the other three one behind driver the other two either side of driver? you are doing a great job.:laugh: my Loyd was transported by a haulier the other day not to happy they bent the tilt frame work and broken three of the cast iron supports where the hoops site in split them and shattered one of them any one know were i can get some more??:-( or were i can get some new one cast

  5. The Trailer has come a long way new springs U Bolts Shackle Bushes and Pins and brake shoes. The trailer has been sand blasted and painted in red oxide.

Hi Can any one help me I am restoring a 5 ton Brockhouse Trailer which was GS trailer on springs the brakes are vacuum operated what im looking for is the vaccuum operated actuator that pulled the cables to operate the brakes on the rear wheels. I am planning to tow it with my Leyland Hippo which works on vacuum over hydraulic any info were i can get one or buy one Thanks :-)

  8. not sure about that I know about it in a commercial field as i am a transport manager I would think he can do it under historic tax as long as its not hire and reward and any how a Quad would only do 20mph
  9. £200 ono I dont know if winch works or not as I brought the Crossley with it on but i cant see no reason that it would not work it was in use regularly then the lorry was parked up and left because the people i brought the lorry off gave up the timber business Thanks
  10. I the uk you can only tow one trailer at a time you can only tow more than one at a time if you are Licence as a showman i.e fair ground or circus you have to apply for this and there are certain restrictions.

  12. Hi I have a Garwood winch for sale has been used on my Crossley which was converted to a logging crane after the war open to reasonable offers see photos This winch has two capstone on each end which i am told this is unusual
  13. I Have now taken the hubs of the braking axle needs new shoe's bearings i think are ok see photos

  18. Found out why the brakes are on the front axle on my Brockhouse trailer the farmer who owned it swoped the axles around so the front is on the back this was so he could put the hand brake on the draw bar, so I am now putting it back how it should be thanks:-D

The two crossly I brought are the ones Paul was trying to restore so I have taken them on They are now on there way to my workshop were I intend to one back to the fire tender but I only have one engine the other has a fordson engine in so any help with manuals or parts would be good i have tried phoning Paul but get no answer i believe he has the cabaret-or thanks:nut: Leyland Hippo Loyd Carrier mk1 Brockhouse mk2 5 ton trailer

Hi I have just brought two Crossly lorry's one was a GS body and the other one most definitely was a tender they are both a bit of a wreck the Gs one is just a chassie with wheels and engine with no carb and no mag or dynamo and some one took the heads off the heads are still there but have let the weather in. The tender has the cab but rusted through and the tank is missing and a lot hole of stuff missing if i didn't rescue it they were going to be cut up for scrap so any one have parts manuals or any thing to do with a Crossly Q type ww2 would be very much appreciated.
