  1. without hijacking this thread I just have to insert this:
  2. off to check - thanks very much!
  3. wise choice. the project will always be there. you remain in our prayers.
  4. sorry I didn't go back and check so if you have already answered this - but how did you alter the moonscape? Looks awesome!
  5. No help at all with the query but very glad that they (in the second picture) chained the tank to the ground so that no one would steal it. 🤣
  6. Great pics! looks like a great day. Love the E-type in the second last pic - trying to figure out the military connection for it and finally concluded it comes from Her Majesty's Secret Service, 007 division. And yes I know he never drove a Jag - like that at least
  7. great pic! and smart to carry a 'spare' on the back in case you break down. 😅
  8. Just wondering if they are either pipe thread for some bizarre reason, or, if they had been torqued and the threads stretched?
  9. looks great! and I don't think it is possible to have too many pics! 👍
  10. McLaughlin Buick is still a recognizable name for old car folk in this country - interestingly GM is just in the process of closing its Oshawa plant which was where McLaughlin was from. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaughlin_Motor_Car_Company
  11. was at a home show today and of all things there was a Vimy display (In Canada this is related to a massive tree planting project. Tried to take some pics (of pics) but in the meantime, here are a couple from this website (colourized) https://www.vimyfoundation.ca/projects/book-they-fought-in-colour/
  12. maybe already posted but this was recently on a Hemmings News post https://www.worldwar1centennial.org/index.php/communicate/press-media/wwi-centennial-news/5783-packard-dave-lockard-earns-national-awards-for-his-wwi-trucks-storytelling.html lovely trucks and important mission
  13. This is beyond annoying - and frustrating. Not sure how the legal system works on your side of the pond, but, there comes a time when a lawyer might be needed - these are not the types of things that good faith and personal attention can solve.
  14. that is really impressive! and done to a really high standard
  15. Not an MV expert but we do know from MG and British Leyland world that, as mentioned, the engines were painted green. However, the paint vat was just refilled and refilled and while green, the exact shade was not standardized. So, now we buy a standard shade from places like Moss motors but originally there would have been more variation - but all just green.
  16. I know even less about planes than tanks etc - so, this is what the website says: The aircraft now displays the markings of a B-25J of RAF No. 98 Squadron, which fought over North West Europe during 1944-45
  17. A different sort of Military vehicle. Sunday past was my car club picnic - held at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum - in Hamilton Ontario - about an hour west of Toronto. It is a great museum as it is almost entirely military planes - and the goal is that each should be flying. So, while we were there there was a Stearman biplane giving rides. The second best part is that the planes being restored are being restored in public view, so, I have watched them restore a Bollingbroke for almost 20 years now. The most famous resident is the Lancaster (one of two as you probably know) a good day was had by all!
  18. I've not used it but those who have and those on the interweb will confirm that you must must must follow the instructions to the letter - and wear gloves - it doesn't wash off.
  19. Pretty sure I know. In fact, as it started to go over and he jumped I suspect, first he said it - then he did it. 😜
  20. On one of the other forums I frequent is a guy named Johnnybravo http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/200406/wheels-on-wagon He has a machine shop and is unbelievably talented - more to the point he makes many parts for tanks and I think <think> recently made a batch of connectors try PMing him.
  21. Clever - greatly diminish the chance of your hard work literally going up in smoke.
