  3. The CVRT are called salamanders. :-D
  4. No. But it does begine with a "S". They are all running and apart from 1 where drivable. they all have the cummins powerpacks in. I managed to get some spares for mine but could not get the powerpacks out.
  5. No not the name on the instruction manual.
  6. Found the plinth it was on but cound not find any other tanks on the camp. Did find a couple of samaritans round the back waiting to go out on the range but thats was all I had time to photograph. too busy working.
  7. Was down at Castlemartin in January and tool a few photos durring my time there. Thought some might be of interest. Just to check does anyone know what the CVRT's are?
  8. When I was at RAF Brawdy back in 1979 with Had 3 as target tugs. Could have got a flight but at the tiem spent all my effort trying to get a flight in the hunter and failing! If I had the chance again would jump at the chance!
  9. Do you have the full reg number on the Scorpion?
  10. Never thought they where that fast!:nut:
  11. Glad to see this getting so close to flight. Would love to see a fighter and bomber variant fly. Think this would have been better value for money to get another mosquito flying in GB rather than the Vulcan, though do love to see the Vulcan flying. Can't we get one flying. Where will it end up?
  12. Proberbly a long shot but In the masses of photos that members have on the forum. does anyone have any photos of 02 ZR 77 when still a gun tank? would be before 1963.
  13. What is a fair price for a running CVRT with turret at the moment. was wanting to know the going rate for vehicles in running condition all the way up to fully restored. ?
  14. Even though I love the Cent i would have to say my fav was the WW1 hall. would love to see thouse beast moving under there own power again.
  15. Went to Sheffield Steam rally at North anston not that was is?
  16. Like the AMX 13 thought about buying 1 rather than the Sabre. But thought the parts would be harder to get not to mention the fact its a little bigger.
  17. Did not even know that one was on. When was it. will have to try and get there next year.
  18. Have just started to repaint the BARV again. I have always used MOD paint on all my vehicles and found it only last at most about 2 years before it fades tomuch or starts to peal off. I have also tried to keep to MOD paint techniques so not to have a vehicle which looks more than it would have in service but would like to know what paints others have used to restore there pride and joy. I plan to repaint teh Sabre this year and was told to try and use a satin finish paint as it last longer. What have others done and how effect have your efforts been? :cool2:
  19. Any chance you could get the manifolds off the engine of the spare one?
  20. Thought they where suposed to be moving to the stabalised 40 mm main gun? or is this still in the air only to come in after its cost a few more £billion.
  21. All the BARV's where named after Rivers, Clyde, Tyne being 2 that I know of. not sure about the others though. Mine saddly is called "Clyde", would have been happier if it was the "Tyne". :-)
  22. Spot on, you can always tell those that have been in the mob.
  23. When I was in the RAF the SWO had a Great coat and when I asked if I could use mine , the answer I got was that any issue uniform used by the RAF so long as in good presentable condition could still be used so long as the correct insignia was used was not a problem but not on parades. I remeber times when the RAF went from battle dress to the jumpers and lighter trousers that this was not done over night but over a few years. I stil have my Brass Queens crown cap badge which was not issue but could be bought and used same as the SD caps. My point is more long the lines as what uniform is used in the past can still be used in the right condition. I have seen the QCS in WW2 Battle dress and No 4 rifles doing there drill. with the other half using the current issue No1's For me I have no problem with the use of uniform but like has been said dont understand tose ging themselves para wings who have'nt the right to wear them. bt if peopel are clear that its to respresent then was is the problem.
  24. What are the vehicles on the Bridge in a bridge too far? There is one that is knocked out which looks like a spartan with exttra superstructure added. Would like to know what they did use for all the vehilces?
  25. Need to get some new plugs for the Centurion and have been told that there is only 1 choice for the plugs. Am I correct that I need RSL 10's or if not which ones do I need and also are there any others which can be used. The ones in at present have trouble with oiling up after onlyu a few runs. now I know there is more than 1 reason for this but thought I would start with plugs options. :cool2:
