DESCRIPTION:\n	Get ready to report for duty! The Isle of Wight Steam Rai
lway is transforming into a buzzing 1940s hub where the music is loud\, th
e engines are hot\, and the spirit of the Home Front is alive and well.\n\
n\n\n	Immerse yourself in Britain’s heyday for a memorable and nostalgic
day out for all the family. An extraordinary time with even more extraor
dinary people. Be inspired by the music\, dress and food of the era that c
	hanged the world.\n\n\n\n	Music &amp\; Entertainment\n\n\n\n	Grab a front-
row seat at the E.N.S.A. stage for a spectacular line up of vintage talent
. We are thrilled to welcome back the legendary Andy Eastwood\, bringing t
he cheeky charm of George Formby to life\, alongside the captivating vocal
s of Amanda Ray. Whether you’re a seasoned Lindy Hopper or just want to
tap your toes\, the air will be thick with the iconic sounds that kept Bri
tain’s spirits high.\n\n\n\n	Historic vehicles and displays\n\n\n\n	Spen
d your day wandering 1940s street scenes\, sing along and dance to the mus
ic of the era. Dressing up in clothes of the time is positively encourage
d (don’t worry if you don’t want to\, all are welcome) but if you arr
ive and fancy popping on something vintage\, there are plenty of pop-up sh
ops selling 1940s clothes.\n\n\n\n	Between the dancing\, fuel up with auth
entic wartime treats and refreshments before heading over to marvel at our
collection of military vehicles. Standing tall among them is the legendar
y Spitfire—keep your eyes on the skies\, as you might just catch a breat
h taking flypast!\n\n\n\n	But stay alert! The formidable Sergeant Marmite
is on the prowl. You’ll either love him or hate him as he rounds up new
recruits for drill practice. Do you have what it takes to pass inspection?
\n\n\n\n	STEAM TRAINS\n\n\n\n	Don’t miss your ride behind our magnificen
t steam locomotives. Settle back in our Edwardian and Victorian carriages
for an hour’s ride through the Isle of Wight countryside. We operate an
extensive service throughout the day. Your ticket includes unlimited journ
eys – please note that all seating is unreserved throughout this weekend

DESCRIPTION:\n	Following last year’s successful run from Southwick Hou
se to Basingstoke the same team is organising another one this year.\n\n\n
\n	 \n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Its not long now until 24th June and the opportun
ity to be a part of the Armed Forces Day Convoy. This event is very signif
icant for our Armed Forces and to our Veterans in the annual calendar and
is one which is popular with the public\, with participants and above all\
, those we salute for their service past and present.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n
\n\n\n\n	Uniquely this year we are driving through Wickham Square at the
invitation of the local authority. The Square was a military vehicle park
ing area in the build up to D-Day and it was a stopping point on the Hamps
hire one way traffic system ahead of June 1944. \n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	 \n\n
\n\n	We are also driving through the centre of Alton at the invitation of
the Town Council\, which is holding a Coronation Themed Event to welcome t
he convoy. Alton is rich in military history\, not least because of the fo
rmer main line London to Winchester railway that ran through the town. The
trains carried troops\, ballast for airfield construction and other warti
me essential goods. The railway is now a heritage line and steam locos wil
l be running on the 24th June between Alton and Alresford.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\
	n\n	 \n\n\n\n	Last\, but not least\, this year’s event is a pre-cursor
to our D-Day 80th Anniversary weekend on 29th and 30th June 2024. Those at
tending this year will get advance information and early booking opportuni
ties for 2024.\n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	 \n\n\n\n	If you have any questions or

event is coming together well &amp\; we have an array of WW1 vehicles atte

the privately preserved 18lb Field gun &amp\; limber. Both these will be o

1916 War Office steam loco which (as I write this) is undergoing its first

This will be in action alongside the famous Baldwin 4-6-0T (also operated
