Hi Snowtracdave

There used to be one on a farm over in Peldon in Essex I believe that was complete with fittings etc.. Could this be the same one or do you know of another?? I to have a very rough Cletrac as Jesse so politely says!! Mine came off a farm in Bently, not far from youself.

Matt and I are on the hunt for any parts what so ever. NOS tracks would be great, more chance of winning the lottery though.

A collector only ten miles from me now has a mint Cletrac so access for measurments is not a probably Matt. I now have four correct headlights and one rear light with switch but only one headlight mount, still need to find two!!

Other parts required are:

Eight roadwheels with good rubber

Windscreen frame and mount

Rear compressor

Air bottle and regulator

Side 110vdc generator

Toolbox

Flagpole holder

I'm sure if Matt was to list his requirments then you could just double the above.

Matt I'll call you next week to disscuss options

That's the one - Still there . Robert wouldn't even sell me a set of spanners when we were working there a few years ago - never mind asking about the Cletrac !

P. Marriott,

I am new to this site. Just stumbled across it this morning as I was looking up info on Cletrac M2's. I have two of them (see pics), one is a 43 built by John Deere and the other is a 44 built by Oliver/Cletrac. Between the two I have all the parts to complete as close to a 100% original M2 as you can get with lots of spares. I may be able to help you out with some of your needs but unfortunately I am located on the other side of the pond so shipping on larger items will most likely be prohibitive. Let me know what you still need and I will see what I can do to help. These things are far too rare and unique not to keep them going.

I don't know what Steve Guest is planning to do with his one, he so famously poked a piston through the block down at GDSF 2009.

He was talking dieslling it, but he may be running out of steam with this idea.

Borrowing this thread a moment - I've been contacted by a friend of a friend over in the Northern US (Michigan, Detroit, are to be more precise) who is looking for tracks or track pads for an Cletrac MG1.

Anyone know where such things might be found or if there are any drawings around that might be used to re-manufacture such items??

Thanks in advance!! :-) :-)

Hi Neil,

The tracks are a problem as they have not been produced since WWII and they are not shared with any other vehicle as far as I know,Halftrack tracks though similar are shorter.

It would seem that for Cletrac owners there are only two options, hope a stash of NOS tracks is discovered(unlikely!) or if enough interest/demand they are reproduced, but with relatively few Cletracs in preservation the demand is never going to be huge.

Maybe Paul can add to this?

Matt.
