Daimond T 969A closed cab door handles

Recommended Posts

Hello all;

I am in the process of stripping down my closed cab and I am reading the TM on how to remove teh door ahndles and window cranks. It states "remove screw under estucheon" I cannot find this screw to save my life.

ANy help in this matter would be apreciated.

Thanks

Could it be a little grub secrew in the thick past of the casting? Or is that to obvious. OR have you got a flared saucer type thing at the base of the handles? That would fit the description Escutcheon.

Estucheon- An ornemental or protective plate around a lock , handle etc. If there is a push in panel the handle may have a thicker base going into the door that could house the screw, I've seen this on some old cars.

Just a guess but on some old cars the escutcheon can be pushed along the shaft towards the door, pushing in the lining slightly, and exposing a grub screw in the part of the door handle thus exposed, often underneath just to make it occurd!

I may be wrong of course but it will be something of that sort.
