YouTube Aircraft Crash Videos......Not for the Squeamish

Recommended Posts

Its not You tube who produces these things and there is a flag a video button to bring things that are in violation of their rules to their attention so they can be removed .

While everyone has been talking about how bad YouTube is there is a FAR FAR worse site out there which I wont even name having only just seen the site a couple of days ago and then only for a few moments I didnt open any of the clips they listed because they were so goulish , that displays the most shocking the most graphicly horriable things .

By any streach while the other site is like Freddy Crouger Youtube is Walt Disney

Unfortunatley 'Democracy' dosen't always give you the answer you want. The original idea of the internet was it couldn't be stopped.

I got movies of crashing model planes, some quite funny (but not for the owner or victim...)

Google web accelerator has this effect on Youtube, if you're running it or similar program, disable it and try again. :)

I get the impression that this was directly recorded off of a TV program. I hope the contributors got paid something to cover the financial loss of the aircraft. A series of miserable days for a lot of people.

I came across a dreadful clip on Youtube which was a real aeroplane accident. It showed the most graphic shots of death i have ever seen. I reported it and it quickly dissapeared. I was exceptionally concerned about some of the people who had left comments there who seemed to have enjoyed it. How could that be explained to people who had survived the incident? I know we aim to live in a "free" society, but there should be some control over what is made available on sites such as these.

I dont surf Youtube anymore.

Tim (too)

I am with you on this Tim as I can not for the life of me see how any of the footage can improve your life – how can it leave with a good feeling?

I have seen two horrific things on there that stopped me in dead in my tracks and I don’t think I have been back to YouTube since.

A friend of mine is a Marine and sent me to links with him saying ‘click here, amazing stuff’ I clicked on it and nearly threw up. The first clip was of Canadian snipers in Afghanistan using a .50 cal sniper rifle on the ‘enemy’ – you don’t need me to explain what happened, the second was footage from heat sensitive camera on a US helicopter opening up on a human being with a mini gun……that has always stayed with me, Christ knows how front line troops handle that.

My son as been banned from YouTube since he was 9 as he came across some footage like that on there. There is enough death and destruction in the world without going looking for it.

I ask again – how the hell can watching material like that be good for the human soul.

For those on active service the (in)famous Gallows Humour is one way of dealing with what Jack describes above.

To illustrate - and without wanting to appear insensitive - the first example Jack uses gives rise to the "pink mist" comment made by those who specialise in making little holes from long distances.

As the saying goes - if you don't laugh.....
