20 mm shells

I have quite a few  steel DSCF7481.thumb.JPG.f912707b1c0e377626a6da4d4cb81599.JPG20 mm shells  what vehicle/ gun would use them? 13 cm long  3cm case

.I was wondering if the British army also used 2omm shells ????

I would tentatively identify them as 20x128mm Oerlikon cannon cartridge cases. I don’t think they are British.

Hi ,

Quick answer, yes the British did use the 20mm Anti Aircraft Polsten  and Oerlikon cannons during WW2. Most Oerlikon cannons were Navel mounted units. 20mm Polstens were fitted to modified 15 cwt Bedfords and CMP  Ford  & Chevy 4x2 , 15 cwt trucks.

They don’t look like the shells from the Hispano, the look to be longer and the examples I own and have seen are Brass (I’m assuming the OPs are painted steel).
