Daimler Dingo starter

I am also looking for a dingo starter and for the same person in the USA. Would this one fit the Daimler engine ?..........Lucas 418G. If so I can obtain one.

Hi Bob,

The Dingo starter is type M418G and Lucas part number stamped on it should be 25535A

i have just bought a dingo in the states and the starter motor has just packed in before they got it to the port. i did wonder if it was the the seller asking for a replacement but that doesn't seem to be the case

Hi Rick,

Those starter motors do suffer from the external solenoid playing up, there is a manual button on the end of the starter to over ride the solenoid electric circuit. This might help those shipping it for you.

richard merry xmas and thank you from me also.

i haven't heard of a starter motor with an over ride before. i'll keep that in mind. much better than a big screwdriver and a lot of sparks :)
