Hi all !!!

took the ole girl out for a last run to a local militaria show before stripping the engine and changing the clutch!!

but on the way home she developed a misfire...

a check at the road side found rearmost plug had worked loose (loss of compression causing the misfire I thought... so tightened it up... and gave it a go BANG!!!! plug shot out of the head and hit the bonnet!! taking what was left of the head plug thread's (stripped thread's when I first got it!!) and shrapnel in the plug gave the game away to more serious damage (suspected thrown ring!!)

so I spent a pleasant afternoon in the sun waiting for the recovery truck (luckily I had just taken out a new insurance policy with breakdown cover just a month ago!!)

anyway this is the aftermath!!!

so ..... anyone got any good spare two stroke engines (or parts to repair!!) head, pistons...the bore's seem unscored so would hopefully take a re-bore !!??

also any ideas on where to source the main crank/ big end bearings as these were the original reason for the imminent strip down!!!

(I have an engineer friend with the press tools to strip the crank!!)

please PM me

thanks!!

! plug shot out of the head and hit the bonnet!!

I see you have discovered the Munga's over-pressure warning device.

While it is always sad to have one's motor break I am glad that you are going to attempt a repair - a difficult task that seems to put many other people off :)

Thanks guys

Trevor, yes Quite a task but I like a challenge!!! , Ullrich, PM sent

also clutch pressure plate looking very tired, and I think ive had the full use of clutch release bearing!!! see pic showing its "teeth"!!!and the splines on the friction plate were seized to the first motion shaft (amazed that it was working at all!!) the plate has loads of meat left.... but the inner segment is parting company with the rest so replacement needed(see close up)!!

Help needed please.

I have an exhaust system from Matz Autoteile; I am having difficulty around the rear wishbones as there will not be enough room between the exhaust system and the wishbone when I add the weight of the body, what and I doing wrong?

It's just not original, replica ...... ...

These problems have some owners who do not have recourse to the original parts.

Unfortunately, the original exhaust system components are becoming increasingly rare and a complete system for the Munga consists of manifolds, 3 muffler pipes, brackets and hangers now costs around 1,200 € in Germany

Hi All,

I'm having some exhausts made for the 1000cc engine, as all you can seem to get are restricting 900cc ones.

they will be made out of stainless steel by a very reputable company who have been making specialist exhausts for many years.

As i'm neither a business nor rich I had to have 10 made to make them cheap enough to sell the remaining 8.

If any one is intrested in one let me know

Andrew
