2ndArmourMad
Hi guys I need some help tracking down the history of one of my ww2 vehicles. i have a 45 M29c (build date is January 45) and I believe it was used in the Pacific then shipped back to the USA after the war. It then went into private ownership in the 50’s and many years later was found and shipped to me (uk) so I have been removing the extra paint layers and found these numbers. 5A on the front right and hull number 40195448, I’ve found this number twice on each side. One is ww2 correct size stencil and the other looks more hand done. ive been told the us army marked the vehicles differently in the Pacific as the USMC also had the same vehicles etc i have also also found the markings A.G.O Reports Inside on the left front side, any ideas ? anyway and help with tracking down the history would be great as it’s not having a full restoration just a light clean and it will be wearing its original paint again soon.
