MOT & Road Tax Free

LarryH57

Question

In 2020 my Lwt will be 40 years old but does the MOT and Road Tax exemption relate to when the vehicle was built or first registered for the road as a civi vehicle?

Hopefully not the latter as the Army had it till January 1991 but it was built circa November 2020

The pre 40yr exemption goes by year of manufacture a vehicle was built new as should be stated on the V5c reg. document.. Not year of 1st registration, if the year of manufacture is not shown or incorrect then you will have to get Landrover verified to prove to DVLA its correct age to claim the exemption
