Belt Waist (Adjustable) 1995 - Comparison With Nylon '58 Pattern?

Hi chaps, would be interested if someone with a nylon 1958 pattern belt in their collection might be able to compare it to this 1995 dated Belt Waist (Adjustable). Are there any difference in detail of construction etc? I'm just intrigued if this belt is, essentially, the same as the nylon 1958 trials pattern as a point of interest.

I acquired an identical belt last year. Somewhat of an oddity as why would they be making Mk2 P58 belts in 1995? I discussed it with the chap who does Karkeeweb, but he didn't really know either. I have a feeling they are something to do with the 'WAIST BELT LARGE, 58 PATTERN & / OR  WORKING DRESS' introduced at around the same time.

It is indeed an oddity, I take it then the Belt Waist (Adjustable) follows the Mk 2 1958 pattern exactly? From photos I've seen of the latter I can't pick out any differences. I will admit I plan to use it as a stand in on my nylon set until I find an example of proper vintage.

I purchased this trial nylon 58 Pattern from Silverman's a few years ago now.........note the absence of the adjusting eyelets.....this one is faintly dated "1977"................but (somewhere) I also have the same but with the adjustment holes, also dated 1977........

I'll see if I can find a front image of the nylon 58 set in service trials............note the nylon large pack !!!!!!

I can't help you with your question but I do also have one of these belts, came with some 58 pattern webbing I got recently.

Here we go............note, no eyelets on this example undergoing trials during the late-1970's.....

ok just being picky here but...anyone else think the belt is a bit high on this soldier? The belt is overlapping his top pockets which means the belt is probably over his ribs.....I never saw anyone wear 58" pattern that high!
