In my uni (in Italy) i put on an automated epidemiology surveillance system a troubleshooting section and named it "System Help Instruction Table".

Still no one has yet noticed the abbreviation..... 8-)

 

And another coupla italian ones:

F.I.A.T = Fix It Again Tony

A.L.I.T.A.L.I.A. = Always Late In Takeoff Always Late In Arrival (and noone wants to buy it, too!!!!)

I don't know why, but that reminds me of when I went to evening class eons ago to learn enough about the internal (infernal) combustion engine to do most of my own repairs. The previous week we had gone through the timing of the piston stroke and what, exactly, went on. As in:

Induction, Compression, Ignition, Exhaust. Or as I had heard it more eloquently put:

Suck, Squeeze, Bang, Blow.

No humour these night school instructors.

Ive remembered one from a course I was on some years ago. Which was about Liquid petroleum gas (LPG) it was during a film of a derailed Gas tank train in the USA where one tank reptured and caught fire superheating the next one creating a BLEVE or boiling liquid expanding vapour explosion. Which caused the whole railcar and tank it was carrying to set off like a Saturn 5 rocket. Unfortunately the blast took out most of the fire crew who were tackling it.

I think the expansion rate of compressed LPG is something like 1Kilo of liquid = 25 cubic metres of gas.
