We will restore the engine to running condition at our cost afterwards the engine will be returned to the owner. They rely on 'Friends of the Museum' to provide labour in their spare Time. To restore/ maintain most of the exhibits. With this opportunity to get a rare WWI tank engine properly restored. (The KEY point being, it wouldn't cost THEM to get this done!) It MIGHT galvanise them to get one of Their other WWI tanks up to restored running condition?.......:cool2: Just a thought....... The MkV run at Tidworth September 1993 but a very small bit of the track chain fell off. Other than that is was OK. Any others after that date ? They going to build the transmission, tracks etc. only thing now is at least an original engine. It will recondition rebuild bij the Ricardo company them self. YES!! every interesting project. secondshooter Posted January 21, 2017 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Would you need an engine that actually came out of a tank or would the agricultural version be ok ? if so you could put the word out on some of those tractor forums , perhaps add in the bit about the tv program as people will be a bit more willing to help.
