Gaiters or Anklets

Recommended Posts

A friend has some of these gaiters or anklets in hard black leather (don't get exited!), would anyone know who would have used these ?

I had my father's Home Guard anklets and they were brown leather with two buckled straps as the web ones.

So more then likely along the lines of CD or ARP. I do have a black set myself and I don't think they're marked up at all apart from makers etc If I get a chance I'll have a look tomorrow.

We had it drummed into us when I was in Basic Training, back in the day.

This type of equipment worn round the ankles over boots. Were termed 'Anklets'....

'Only Fu**ing Vicars wear Gaiters' We were 'Informed' in no uncertain terms!....:-X
