HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY To my Albion Chassis No. 361A

Recommended Posts

The muff cover idea would make restoring these wonderful old trucks SO much easier...

"Yes, of course it has the proper engine, carefully crafted bonnet & painstakingly hand-made radiator, but the muff's period, so what can we do? Oi, no peeping!" ;):D

Mike, It is good to see you bringing these parts together from being in storage at other peoples collections. Next question is what is the time frame to have an Albion mobile?

Hi Rick, sounds like the radiator is same as marks, i'm trying hard to acquire it and also a complete engine too that came out of the same truck, the gearbox/transaxle is there too but its incomplete, but i'm hoping the fact that I have shown the owner the big pile of albion parts and chassis etc, that they can see it can be put to use in making a whole vehicle, obviously a vehicle made from original parts not an original vehicle, heres hoping it can happen? Doug it will be a while before I can start on this but i'll keep following up any leads,

cheers mike.

Hi Rick, just got a few pictures of that Radiator, its not in very good shape but good enough for a patern, may still be a better idea to talk to the other guy you mentioned but i'll see what comes of this first,

cheers mike.

Hi Mike, well that is a great start. The side panels should be easy to have cast and the top and bottom tanks look pretty savable. When you strip it right down you will find the tubes easy to clean and replace if necessary. Regards Rick.

Hi Rick,  I didn't manage to get this radiator because they decided not to sell it, but a good mate has just found another  which is in far better condition apart from a small section of the left side mounting bracket having an inch or so cut off the end!!

now all I am needing is a set of mag/throttle controls- bracket and levers, and also the correct handbrake lever for this Albion to be a complete project, so if anyone can help with these let me know, even  recast examples would be ok, I have lots of parts for other early English makes so maybe someone here would be happy to trade for these parts?  just another idea to get going forward?

cheers mike
