Hi all, can anyone tell me what the size (Dia.) and thread of the drain plugs on the fuel tank in a Mk1 ferret please. Both of mine are missing.>:(

Hi Steve,

The thread is 1/2" BSPF, which is British Standard Pipe - Fine. Same part number as the filler/level plugs in hub cap.

I used to have deal with all these acronyms, so I remember that BSPF actually stands for British Standard Pipe Fitting, which is a confusing way of defining that it is actually a parallel or straight thread, as opposed to BSPT, British Standard Pipe Taper.

My mistake, should have said BSPP, meaning Parallel. That is how my taps and dies are marked.

Wow, Im onto my third Ferret rebuild and I never knew that the hub filler plugs also fit the fuel drain plug. The things you learn.
