Post War British Vehicle colour change, gloss to matt

When did the British Army change their post war vehicle colours from Bronze Green to Matt ? Is there any documentation or specific information where the change is listed ? What vehicles would have been specified to be repainted first and how long would it have taken to repaint the whole fleet assuming they would have all been re painted ?

I'm thinking late 50's to circa early to mid 60's, soft skin vehicles, such as land rovers, light trucks etc. Not armoured vehicles.

 

IRR came along later than this period I think but was there a matt coloured green paint used between Bronze green and IRR ?

You mention Olive drab but wasn't this a war time colour only ?

So that would be high gloss Deep Bronze Green BS381C 224. Although it was introduced for Army vehicles of all types when it was known as BS381 24 in FVDE Spec 2012 in Jan 1948.

 

Late 60s front line units depending on commanders feeling of theatre requirement would be Olive Drab BS381C 298 This British version of Olive Drab was added to BS381 in 1949.

 

NATO Green BS381C was added to BS381C in 1980. IRR Paints Defence Standards were introduced in 1980 & instructions introducing the service use of IRR paints was issued in 1980.
