joeferret Posted March 1, 2015 Author Share Posted March 1, 2015 Well logically no one would eliminate that spring as they would have to dismantle the rod inside the filter canister.....All I remember doing is slipping off the filter off that about 12 inch long rod and putting the new filter on....I just don't see how that spring can possibly hold up that new cartridge filter #432 which is about 1 inch shorter than the old style original diaper type filter..It is clearly about 1 inch from the top.........Just my opinion I don't think switching from an old style filter to the new cartridge drop in filter is a good idea without changing something to correct it...
