gary0003
Is my 1944 R/Enfield WD/CO exempt from Road Tax and MOT? Do I have to fill out any forms for this? or can I just ride the bike? Thanks, Gary.
arcot1751
Is your bike already registered as Historic ? If so you merely need to insure and tax it stating MOT exempt, although it is "tax exempt" you still have to tax it either at the Post Office or online but have nothing to pay. This changes slightly in Oct when the need to actually display a tax disc ends. If your bike is not yet registered you will need a dating certificate from a DVLA approved source before you can claim exemption.

arcot1751
Did you fill in the V55/5 form to register the bike ? Is so you should have put its taxation class as "Historic". Chris Brooks on here is the MVT man you need to speak to regarding anything registration related he can help I'm sure. It should be straightforward if the paperwork is all in order. You need valid insurance done on its frame number and your dating certificate, a completed V55/5 (available from DVLA), and proof of identification etc. The V55/5 tells you all you need. I found if you obey the guidelines to the letter DVLA are usually fine. Good Luck.
