Form 600 / Vehicle Document Wallets

Recommended Posts

I have a box full of old WD / MoD Form 600 wallets, the green ones with the bit of silver board in that hold vehicle documents.

Chances are the vehicles are long gone, but just in case by some miracle any have survived and are owned by people on here, here's the registrations in age order:

Sean out of interest have any of these been painted?

I used to have a pile of them & some where painted red or yellow. Someone once told me that is was to remind the driver whether to fill up with petrol or diesel. He had no answer when I showed the ones that were painted blue!

To be honest I'd have to have another look, Clive. Give me a day or two. I've seen them painted in blue, DBG and black in the past though. I think a few of these may be part painted where they've been re-used and the old VRN has been painted out.

Sean I think that is probably the answer. Don't go to any trouble going through them all.

Clive, I finally remembered to have a look through these. The ones with paint on mostly have DBG; some have NATO green, black, blue, red or yellow on. Some have black gaffer tape on. In every case it's where the wallet has been re-used and the old VRN has been painted or masked out.

I would suspect the Austin Champ owners club would be interested in the BE ones (if I'm right in thinking the BE numbers all belonged to Champs).

Thanks Sean that seems to be the answer.
