Guess you should find yourself paying passengers!?

I drove Dodges to Beltring twice.

From the Netherlands to Dunkirk and then from Dover to Beltring.

From home to Dunkirk, 200 Miles.

From Dover to Beltring, 55 miles?

I agree it takes a lot of time and costs!

Another option Jack.

Chris Maine from Wokingham is also wanting to take his GMC 352, but like you, concerned about the cost. You could drive it to Wokingham, then team up with Chris (either for breakdown support, two vehicles driving together) or for sharing the costs of a transporter up to Suffolk.

Another 3 entries in the post this morning ;-)

Looks like we might be taking our GMC 352, about 180 miles each way, but I have to do a bit of working out of finances, but what are these trucks for if you dont enjoy driving them and showing them, paint them all up keep them under cover do all the repairs and then moan about the cost of fuel, bite the bullet, fill her up and go to the show..and enjoy the moment it will be rearly good.................. see you all there......

R Cubed about to burn £300 fuel !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jack, I think what you need to ask yourself is.......

How often is an event like Bolero going to happen?

This is probably a one off event. The airfields are vanishing at the hands of developers at an alarming rate. The chance to be part of something like it may not come around again.

Just spend the money and get out and enjoy the weekend.

Steve

PS - The alternative is to drive there, then 'Break Down' just as you leave, and get your break down recovery to tow you home!! ;-)

Here what you are saying folks but you also have to be slightly realistic and not get to seduced. Yes without doubt it is going to be the show of the year but many factors have to be taken into consideration, family, business etc etc. The most cost effective way to do something like this it to put the truck on a low loader, in time, money and maintance.

Also, it is going to be nice to be a foot soldier for once - I can then have a drink at night and not have to worry about driving an MV in the morning full of folks who are your responsibility. Believe me folks I have looked at this closely, just not feasible for me for a 3 day show :(
