some thing a bit more modern December 1992 and how the layout of catalogues have changed

 

Just seen this post Wally. The Ferret and Saladin that are shown listed as being at RAOC Rowcroft Barracks, that was on the same base as the REME Workshops, at Ashford, Kent. From memory the Ferret was one of those converted for use in Malaya with a deep collar on the top of the hull and turret on top, seem to recollect it had nothing inside and might have come from an Army Cadet unit for disposal. The Saladin, I was asked to inspect on behalf of the Tank Museum as they were looking for a good one, but they were disappointed as it had been used by REME TA for recovery training and had no decking on it and had been turned over many times. No idea who bought these though as they were on one of the early Ludgershall tender sales.

RICHARD it was only a matter of time that some one would recall a vehicle in one of the catalogues wether they drove it in the services or like you l am still waiting to see a Leyland martian registration number 42 BM 85 which l sent to disposal

what a idiot

TED nice to see you back hope you are ok the BEDFORD RL GS seems to appear listed as seven ton in the early 1970s

on wards due l suspect to a change in the law In the next post l will include some thing for you
