Dusty
Brilliant Wally. I never realised vehicles were sold off from Trafford Park, I thought everything went through Slough. Presumably those with civilian registrations had been commandeered by the military? Dusty
wally dugan
HI dusty most of these were impressed in to war service due to shortages though the war department did buy some of them direct straight from the factories the crossley tender is interesting REGARDS WALLY
wally dugan
I have now finally up dated the records of sales catalogues and it has surprised me l thought l had 40,000 vehicle sales records the true figure is 109,500 from 1945 to 1949 and a mixture of catalogues from 1919 and the 1950s through to the 1990s some thing like 50,000 so in all 159,500 individual vehicle vehicle sales records this time lot 1679 is interesting

Catch 22 LBDR
do the research my self its quite easy just takes time I know that the army number would help. would it be possible to compile a list of all Morris MK3 gun tractors sold between 1945- Jan 1947. Or is that a monumental task. It sounds like a monumental task:undecided:

79x100
Fascinating Stuff Wally. 'FTE' was a Lancashire civilian series issued Feb. 44 - Feb. 45 - Those Velocettes were presumably passed from WD to another Government department at that time. The RAF motorcycle numbers are particularly interesting as there is such a lack of surviving information. Do you have any showing 633cc (or 600cc) Norton sidecar outfits with RAF numbers ? ...A shame they don't show chassis numbers though !
