happydayz123
Hi, a friend of mine bought a very nice fully restored 1942 3/4ton Dodge command car today. He's wanting to know. A,where all the seats originally cloth or leather ? B, can anyone help with either close up pics or better the dimensions/drawings of the rear map table. Any help would be greatly appreciated regards stuart
Nick Johns
Plenty of info on the ww2 Dodge forum http://forum.ww2dodge.com/
Gordon_M
Well, yes, of course all the info is on the WW2 Dodge Forum, but in simple terms. A 3/4 ton Command had only two upholstery options, real leather or OD canvas - NOTE that vinyl or artificial leather is not an option.. The changeover is by chassis number but real leather lasted until at least mid-42 - don't have the cutoff date to hand. The map table info is even easier - it is marine plywood and the thickness, width, and height that will slide-fit between the runners. The related hardware is limited to one brass pull handle that can be seen in the original shots, top centre, and two metal hooks screwed on the bottom corners that stop it pulling all the way out. The chassis number cutoff points and illustrations of all the bits are in the Master Parts List - a must-have for Dodge tinkerers. happydayz123
Many thanks for the info guys. At the moment we don't have any manuals, photocopies are easy to obtain thou . Unfortunately the rails & foot rest are missing from behind the driver/front passenger seat. Only the map case box remains !! regards stu

I think the WC16 has the map table hardware with it - was just missing the woodwork..... Ken
