Not that the WWF will be excited, but I am!

Hoebig, in Germany.

Now, anyone out there know anymore? Wheatcroft's? the ex-range wreck in a "Private collection" near Frankfurt? Iain King's bits coming together?

I'll put my Engineering Surveyors hat on here and risk pronouncing that all the metal you can see there is brand new.

I'd guess they are going to build one from the ground up using mild steel, hopefully outfitted with as many original bits as can be sourced.

When these things become valuable its amazing how they crawl out of the woodwork, just look at the increase of restored shermans over the past 10 years.

The remains of armour that no one would have bothered with years ago are now 'worth it' !

Not all, I would say the toe plate and upper hull side are original, the rest looks new.
