Part No LV1/LD BC65036 Pad Head Assy Aux Gunners Comp

Question

Part No LV1/LD BC65036 Pad Head Assy Aux Gunners Comp

Can anyone enlighten me as to which vehicle this part is for? It is a brown rexine covered pad. I have two of them in nearly new condition. Sadly some plank has attached tape to one of them in the past and it has removed part of the surface finish.

Curious as to what vehicle they are intended for.

Cheers

Paul

Richard,

Thanks for the swift reply. If that is the case I can think of a couple of people who might need them! They were incorrectly fitted to my Daimler turret, the two pads side by side, but the Daimler has a single large pad.

Thanks again for the reply.

Regards

Paul

I have a Chilwell catalogue of 1946 & defines LV1 as Cruiser & Infantry Tanks. At that time LV1/LD referred to Centaur & Comet. The next catalogue I have of 1967 now allocates LV1/LD to Centurion. I don't have any clues on the BC element I'm afraid.

Cromwell was LV1/BRC

There are quite a few other examples of the VAOS Section where the role is the same but the actual vehicles change eg:

LV1/ARV Churchill, Cavalier, Sherman ARVs(1946)

LV1/ARV Centurion ARV (1967)
