Headlights

I am trying to find a pair of headlights for my lightweight Land Rover, can anyone tell me if the complete unit is to military spec or would the outer rim take a standard light unit as fitted to civvy models and also if this type of light unit was common to more than Land Rovers, helps widen the search area if they are.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I tried to fit some civi ones to the old mil rims but ran into trouble with the cut outs on the rim fitting the lugs on the headlight being in different on the civi ones. I think I bodged it in the end. I may have been unlucky, there may be civi ones that are directly compatable but I suspect not :-(

Thanks for the advice, I am not too worried about the actual light unit (glass part) more the outer rim which I believe was for fitting the IR filters, I did see a set on Ebay but they went for BIG money and with me being almost watertight I will have to keep looking.
