Caterpillar D4 2T

Question

Firstly i would like to say hi and thank you for letting us join the forum.

I have joined in the hope that someone may be able to help us with tracing the history of our Caterpillar D4 2T, we have owned it for 6 years and completely restored it.

it has the serial number 2T 1260 with another stamped in number of 162 in the block.

Our plan is to emigrate to Canada soon and we are taking the D4 with us, as it became a bit of a money pit ! and we can't ever sell due to all the work we have put into it.

it would be fantastic if we could trace it's history and were wondering if there is anyway of finding out if it was ever in military service etc

Now we may have come to completely the wrong place and if that is the case i am sorry, but we are getting desperate as i have tried the previous keeper etc with no luck and would like to find out before we move.

Thanks

Yogi
