A couple more shots of me so called ' Ice Cold In Alex ' ambulance... though not quite.

Thankyou ' Runflat '

Not quite the same type - this shows a Morris Commercial CS11/30F (you can tell by the shape of the wings), whereas the ambulance in 'Ice Cold in Alex' was an Austin K2/Y (except when it wasn't, but that's another story). Essentially the same body though.

Photo's probably relates to Italian prisoners detraining at Wady Sarar, Dec. 21, 1940

International Harvester D15 Metro, very rare ambulance with history. Two of these vans were adopted by United Body Co.of Chicago US and donated by Federation of American Czechoslovaks in Texas and other patriot organisations to Czechoslovak units in the UK during WWII. Made in 1940. One was Dentist and one standard ambulance. One was saved from scrap by my friend and restored.

More here, see pamphlets in English: http://www.rotanazdar.cz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=63:sanita-internacional-harvestr-d-15-metro-1940&catid=42:veterani-nakladni&Itemid=66&lang=en
