kapral
Having trouble adjusting float level in the carburettor in my GAZ. Have got an instruction with this picture: it clearly states 47mm from the base of the top cover of the carb to the top of the float. unfortunatelly the float in mine isn't round. It is rather flat, just differnet shape then this one. Any ideas how to adjust it?
marmon
Ideally you will need the correct data for your model, if not compare it to the diagram of the round float model and guesstimate it, measure and record the height assemble and run it, if it tends to run rich you will need to lower it, higher if it is too lean, trial and error I'm afraid, write down every change in height and the position of the idle mixture screw at its best running setting. It might also be possible to see a tide mark in the bowl, but it does not mean it was right to begin with unfortunately. Maybe someone else will come up with the measurement
