Don Robert
Hi Guys, can somebody give me any information about Matchless G3L 1948? It is the same as war time model or what kind of deferences he has? Thanks Radek Hi Radek A 1948 bike will have several differences.... 7 inch front and rear brake (WW2 5 1/2 inch ) It will have a lug or mounting on the front frame downtube for sidecar mounting......the gearbox will not have low 1st and 2nd gears...it will have 1 inch Carburettor...(not a bad thing ) It will have only 3 positions on headlight switch (4 for WD ) It will not have flat gear change pedal...the carrier will not have pannier mounting lugs...There are also engine changes inside to oil pump drive but not to notice. It will have a wide alloy band to clamp primary chaincase etc etc. hope this helps.
