lightweight Posted February 19, 2010 Share Posted February 19, 2010 Am I right in thinking that in US kit, the two numbers in the stock number indicate the items year of manufacture? ie: if the stock number is... 8415-00-782-2936, then it was made in 2000? If you are interested, I will try and find it again. Martin, I checked again, the last procurement of these, by US Govt was in 1986 ( got it wrong in last post). If you have the contract number off the coat, you may be able to narrow the date down as they ordered several batches. I'm trying to find a Vietnam period M-65 jacket, but there's a lot out there claiming to be the right period so I'm trying to work out how to seperate the wheat from the chaff as they say!
