    REME Museum now open

Dear all, the REME Museum in Lyneham is now open, Tues to Sat 1000-1630. There are displays, shop, cafe, research and education facilities. At £7 for adults, £5 for children, it seems to be good value. It is on the A 3102, same as the main gate for MOD Lyneham which is well signposted, try SN15 4PT. More details on their website. http://www.rememuseum.org.uk/ Enjoy! T
  4. Does anyone have a ferret or have ever seen one that has tie down points on the FRONT armour plate just up from the bottom edge? I am not asking about the ones on the sides at the front. I am well familiar with those. Can you post a picture of the vehicle please and do you know its original registration please? Robin

    Dartmoor MV's ?

Does anybody know of any HMV friendly mechanics/recovery companies in the East Dartmoor area?? My SUMB has been neglected this winter (A mistake I wont make again) and needs to be moved ASAP but isn't starting. Mechanics isn't my strong point (In fact I'm not sure what is) but I've checked the obvious plugs, battery, fuel. I have a deadline to finish some cosmetic work on it but the SUMB is currently touching against a Bedford TK proving this impossible.
  6. Gentlemen, I can share with you that when my son and I went out yesterday :drive:morning to visit his grandparents 7 miles away, I hadn't anticipated coming back home with such lack of style.... :embarrassed: This is what ends up happening when the flexible oil pressure pipe on a CCKW that connects to the oil pressure gauge, decides to split when your not at home...

    Stormer track / idler joy

I went in to work yesterday to sort out a piece of agricultural kit for my principle as he wanted to use it. I noticed that the Stormer was out of it's bay, he had wanted to take some of the guests for a ride so presumed he was doing that. About 25 minutes later as I was finishing up my work, he turned up but not in the Stormer which didn't bode well. Long story short we visited the stricken vehicle. Hats off to him that he heard something was wrong and stopped it where it was. The pictures show the basic problem, I believe I know what the fault is, and that is that the bearings in the idler / tensioner wheel are shot. The recovery will be interesting. I will have this to deal with on Monday morning. R
