  1. Happy Mothers Day from HMVF & it's members :-D
  2. Sorry about the recent downtime! This time it wasn't because Jack somebody forgot to pay the bill but the frontpage was trying to bring the server down. As a precaution the web-guys shut us down. We are back up now but I have sacrificed the frontpage in the process.
  3. Ok we have just had a meeting about this. Please hold back on the caption competition's for now, members are contacting us as there are far to many popping up on the forum, when a member clicks on new post there are hit straight in the face with them. Current ones will be locked & new ones will be removed, not trying to spoil your fun just trying to keep the Forum somewhat on track. Regards HMVF Team
  4. Welcome mate to the 1,000 posters club, normally Jack would do the welcomes but some in the clubhouse think he has done a Reggie Perrin after after finding a pair of Lycra boxers left on the bar side beach, also know as the pile of building sand by the pool... Ok you got a choice of overnight room as space is at a premium, share a room with Clive, good bedtime reading from him. Joris & Enigma??? just sounds like a load of double Dutch to me & you got to put up with Enigma trying to the wall of death on that chainsaw with wheels... Or we got a dormitory with Markheliops, Antar Mike & Corsec if you need someone to show you how to pull your chain... (Tutorial videos in the club cinema after midnight) Ian, Unlike ATR Pirbright, cameras as not allowed in the bar lol.... I apologize if anyone has been missed out & not been welcomed to the club, this is due to poor record keeping by the management... I blame Joris for keep sending us emails in Dutch
  5. Just spoke to Jack & he's asked me to post up that he's away on business until the end of the month, he couldn't get online to make the post. Any problems contact either Joris or myself. Cheers Lee
  6. It has been brought to our attention on a number of occasions that some of the Gentlemen on the forum seem to ignore the fact that we also have Women as members of the forum too. Please when posting in threads do not just address it to the guys on the forum, remember the ladies too.. Any sexist remarks or foul language will be removed & a warning will be issued. Also we will not stand for abusive emails/PM's being sent to any member. If you have a problem with a member please go through the Mods to mediate. We ask all members to re-read the Forum rules again & make sure they understand them. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?517-Forum-RULES-amp-GUIDELINES Anyone with a problem with the rules then please PM me, they are not up for discussion on the forum. Regards HMVF Team.
  7. Hi folks, Thank you all so much to the folks who have donated - it actually does keep HMVF afloat. But just a heads up to the last 6 folks who have been generous enough to donate but your payments haven't come through hence why the running monthly total is up one moment and down the next. Those folks who have donated in the last week - could you be as kind as to check your end for confirmation. As I wouldn't want you to of made a payment if you didn't mean to and conversely I wouldn't want you to think that you have made payment and I haven't acknowldeged it. Thanks to all. Jack.
  8. You may find the layout of some pages all over the place while Joris is busy changing a few things..
  9. Sorry to the new members who are having to wait a bit to have their accounts activated, we are having a big spammer attack at the moment & it's taking quite a while weeding them out.. If I happen to let a spammer slip through the net use the report post button on the page & I'll ban them, it's getting harder to spot them as they are using UK & other legit email addresses.. Cheers Lee
  10. Ok folks,. As the 'family' grows and more and more of us are getting to meet each other (which in my oppinion makes this site worth while just for that fact) it would be a good idea and a great help if we could all post a picture up of ourselves so we all have a better idea of who we are speaking and hopefully enable us to recognise each other at shows.........or more importantly - in the beer tent!! Any picture will do - don't need to be studio portraits
  11. Sorry about the downtime last night, the database became corrupted.. Haven't spoken to Joris yet so don't know what the problem was?? You may (I have) notice that some posts made before the crash are missing, not sure why but sorry about that..
  12. Folks - I have announcement to make this evening (when I get home) with regards to HMVF's future:cry:
  13. Joris has installed the Second Patch that was released, I've started a new Bug Tracker, please report any new Bugs or Bugs that may not of been fixed with the first Patch. It would help us if you can tell us which Browser & the version you are using when reporting bugs... Before reporting a bug please see if it's been reported here first http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?16562-Forum-Bug-Tracker&p=183460 Also before reporting a bug please delete your cookies & tmp internet files first & then see if the problem is still there.
  14. Joris has been busy installing some new Forum software, you can now view members albums from the drop-down Gallery menu on the Forums tab. You can even search albums by username.
  15. How do I attach a file to a post? To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread. On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page. To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'. Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen. What files types can I use? How large can attachments be? In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board. How do I add an image to a post? If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed. To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too. Click the manage attachments box below the post editor Click add files top right corner of pop up window Click select file in next window & browse you PC for the photos you want to upload Once you have selected all the photos you want to upload, Click upload files. (Use "Select Files" if you want to add more) In the next window you wil see the photos you have uploaded, check the box in the bottom right of each photo & click "Insert Attachment" All done... If you want to post photos you have uploaded previously just drag them into the bottom preview box , select & insert attachment... If inserting from photohost just copy & paste the code into the post, should look like this [img=http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz273/afvmilspec/bbadvert2010.jpg] You can also choose the basic upload editor from the user cp, uncheck enhanced attchment upload
  16. Due to popular demand we will soon have a Military Scale Models Board, a place to ask all your military modeling question, show us your projects & get helps & tips....
  17. We are getting more & more inactive Photobucket links on the forum, the photos are replaced with a photobucket icon.. it's important that you log in to your photobucket account every 30days or the images will dissapear off the forum. If you don't login within 365 days your photobucket accounts is deleted. Also remember not to rename photos or move them into new folders after you have posted links on the forum or those links will be broken...
  18. The database server had a problem this morning thus the site wasn't working. The problem should be fixed now. (I blame Jack and his inflatable bed by the way)

  20. I'll list all Bugs found in this closed thread & mark them fixed once we have a solution to the problems. Please carry on reporting the Bugs in the Bugs thread http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?17223-Forum-Bugs-3&p=190845#post190845 Reported Bugs: Some words repeated in posts..
