  1. It has been brought to our attention on a number of occasions that some of the Gentlemen on the forum seem to ignore the fact that we also have Women as members of the forum too. Please when posting in threads do not just address it to the guys on the forum, remember the ladies too.. Any sexist remarks or foul language will be removed & a warning will be issued. Also we will not stand for abusive emails/PM's being sent to any member. If you have a problem with a member please go through the Mods to mediate. We ask all members to re-read the Forum rules again & make sure they understand them. http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?517-Forum-RULES-amp-GUIDELINES Anyone with a problem with the rules then please PM me, they are not up for discussion on the forum. Regards HMVF Team.
  2. Just spoke to Jack & he's asked me to post up that he's away on business until the end of the month, he couldn't get online to make the post. Any problems contact either Joris or myself. Cheers Lee
  3. Sorry about the recent downtime! This time it wasn't because Jack somebody forgot to pay the bill but the frontpage was trying to bring the server down. As a precaution the web-guys shut us down. We are back up now but I have sacrificed the frontpage in the process.
  4. Hi folks, Thank you all so much to the folks who have donated - it actually does keep HMVF afloat. But just a heads up to the last 6 folks who have been generous enough to donate but your payments haven't come through hence why the running monthly total is up one moment and down the next. Those folks who have donated in the last week - could you be as kind as to check your end for confirmation. As I wouldn't want you to of made a payment if you didn't mean to and conversely I wouldn't want you to think that you have made payment and I haven't acknowldeged it. Thanks to all. Jack.
  5. You may find the layout of some pages all over the place while Joris is busy changing a few things..
  6. Sorry to the new members who are having to wait a bit to have their accounts activated, we are having a big spammer attack at the moment & it's taking quite a while weeding them out.. If I happen to let a spammer slip through the net use the report post button on the page & I'll ban them, it's getting harder to spot them as they are using UK & other legit email addresses.. Cheers Lee
  7. Sorry about the downtime last night, the database became corrupted.. Haven't spoken to Joris yet so don't know what the problem was?? You may (I have) notice that some posts made before the crash are missing, not sure why but sorry about that..
  8. Folks - I have announcement to make this evening (when I get home) with regards to HMVF's future:cry:
  9. How do I attach a file to a post? To attach a file to your post, you need to be using the main 'New Post' or 'New Thread' page and not 'Quick Reply'. To use the main 'New Post' page, click the 'Post Reply' button in the relevant thread. On this page, below the message box, you will find a button labelled 'Manage Attachments'. Clicking this button will open a new window for uploading attachments. You can upload an attachment either from your computer or from another URL by using the appropriate box on this page. Alternatively you can click the Attachment Icon to open this page. To upload a file from your computer, click the 'Browse' button and locate the file. To upload a file from another URL, enter the full URL for the file in the second box on this page. Once you have completed one of the boxes, click 'Upload'. Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window. You can then close the window to return to the new post screen. What files types can I use? How large can attachments be? In the attachment window you will find a list of the allowed file types and their maximum sizes. Files that are larger than these sizes will be rejected. There may also be an overall quota limit to the number of attachments you can post to the board. How do I add an image to a post? If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed. To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too. Click the manage attachments box below the post editor Click add files top right corner of pop up window Click select file in next window & browse you PC for the photos you want to upload Once you have selected all the photos you want to upload, Click upload files. (Use "Select Files" if you want to add more) In the next window you wil see the photos you have uploaded, check the box in the bottom right of each photo & click "Insert Attachment" All done... If you want to post photos you have uploaded previously just drag them into the bottom preview box , select & insert attachment... If inserting from photohost just copy & paste the code into the post, should look like this [img=http://i835.photobucket.com/albums/zz273/afvmilspec/bbadvert2010.jpg] You can also choose the basic upload editor from the user cp, uncheck enhanced attchment upload

  13. Joris has installed the Second Patch that was released, I've started a new Bug Tracker, please report any new Bugs or Bugs that may not of been fixed with the first Patch. 14. Hi All, I've installed Tapatalk support on the forum, it's an application for iPhone and Android phones that will allow you to read the forum very easily on your mobile. There is a read only version which is free and a full version which cost $2.99, you can find it in iTunes and the Android Market (or google Play as it's now called). Check out http://www.tapatalk.com for more information! Some more info:
  15. I'll list all Bugs found in this closed thread & mark them fixed once we have a solution to the problems. Please carry on reporting the Bugs in the Bugs thread http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?17223-Forum-Bugs-3&p=190845#post190845 Reported Bugs: Some words repeated in posts.. 22. As we have members scattered all over the globe we thought it would be a good idea to get a snap shot of how many members we have in each country. If you can not see your country in the poll then just let us know & we will add it.. (Permanent addresses only please) Cheers Lee
  23. I've added a nice feature to enable everyone to add a youtube video to a post. A new button (far right) has been added with the YouTube logo. When you click on it the following code is added: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdNBnHEZmM0&hl=nl The Video Identifier is fdNBnHEZmM0, the code after the v= and before the &. Put the Video Identifier inside the youtube tags et voila: Something went wrong... Now you have to put the Youtube Video identifier inside the youtube tag. This identifier is part of the address (URL) in the address bar. For instance, the Varsity video has the following address: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdNBnHEZmM0&hl=nl The Video Identifier is fdNBnHEZmM0, the code after the v= and before the &. Put the Video Identifier inside the youtube tags et voila: [YOUTUBE]fdNBnHEZmM0" />Something went wrong... Something went wrong...
  24. That First Post. When posting for the first time, consider introducing yourself, preferably with your real first name. This helps people think you're a real person. If you have accidentally forgotten to fill in most of the details in your profile, like where you come from or what you do for a living, consider going back now and plugging a few gaps so that, when somebody clicks to see whom you are, they don't find a load of blanks. It is nice for all of us to know who we are talking to. http://www.hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?t=517 Please add the Introduction prefix from the drop down menu when making your post. Jack Beckett
