1. Di all, does anyone recognize the symbol below? All I can add is it is dated 1945. Cheers, C.
2. Try over on BOCN. Someone there should be able to ID it for you if you have no luck here.
3. Something different! Bit of background, Colin (on here somewhere) and myself run the local village day which over the last few years has grown to 5-6000 visitors and hence we needed a proper tannoy system for the arena rather than the audio PA system we were currently using. So a quick bid online and a trip up to Withams we now had one of these; We plugged it into a 110v power supply and it powered up to our amazement! The computer booted up and showed 2 mins 48 seconds on the clock and all seemed to be looking good until you delve deeper. Simply you need a base station to connect wirelessly with the unit to be able to get any sound out of it. I got in contact with the company in the USA that makes them and they were very helpful but the end result is the whole system and audio drivers run on square wave so not a lot of use really. ( made in March 2010 and sold to the MOD at $80,336.78  ). We needed the thing working in 7 days so the only option was to rip all the gubbins and drivers out and install a 100v line system with cordless mics. And it worked  It was crystal clear and turned up about 1/5 of the volume easily covered the 40 acre field and further. If anyone else got one of these and wants to know more in detail about the new amps and drivers please pm me. The extra new system came in at around £800 which I thought wasn't bad and took 14 hours straight to wire up and install. Next job is to reinstall the power supply board so the whole system can run off of the solar panels. :-) C.
4. Thanks for all your reply's, appreciated. C.
5. Said hi to you at the show but forgot to ask if you had a web site? Cheers, C.
6. Hi Guys, just wanted to check some things. I'm using SAE15w30 in the engine, final drives, hubs etc.. does the GL matter? (im using GL4). The breaking systems ask for OM11 which is ISO10 hydraulic fluid but i seem to have loads of OM13 about here. The only reason i would have it here is for the Sabres breaking system and if i remember right I got it off of Sammy at A&S for just that! So, has the breaking system got the wrong stuff in it? Cheers all. Best, C.
7. And the only ones that loose out and get crushed by even more red tape and paperwork are the law abiding citizens. When will they realise that the tw#ts that break the law don't care about any new laws :-(:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
8. Was suppose to be going all week but due to things i'd forgotten (like my first wedding anniversary among others) could only make it on Saturday. We were lucky with the traffic and in a land rover, so the mud was not to much of a problem. Did see the EOD lorry sliding all over the place but no other official presence. First impression was a lack of heavy armour, modern kit and large dealers. If you liked german ww2 kit the stalls were great but otherwise you had to hunt round. Haven't been for 3 years and there was a lack of the large dealers with stilages upon stilages of kit and a massive lack of post war vehicle spares. A lot of the reanactors we spoke to were leaving Saturday night due to the weather forecast but as i wasn't there sunday i dont know if they did? Picked up a few bargings; 250 polly washers for FV432 £60, 3 new gel batterys £65 each and a load of other crap :-) All in all a good show and well done to Rex. I know the next commander has been chosen and it will be staying at the race course, does anyone know who it is? The only thing I'd change is to somehow put the arena in front of the old stands so everyone can have a good view. Thats what they were built for and there was nothing of any significance in front of them! Saw a lovely piece of heavy armour next to the arena for sale ;-) if only I had the funds... Best, C
9. Hi Guys, New purchase for the local village day. Does anyone know the history of these and why/where Withams got them from? Do we have an electronics guru on this site? The mike input is a three pin CB type mike which I presume is (Common, audio and PTT (which connects to ground as well?)) and I want to plug in a radio mike system using standard 3 pin xlr's. In my mind I think this is possible, but is it? if so what do I do with the PTT? A permanent short to common?????? If anyone has a user manual, a copy would be appreciated. Best, C.
10. Hi Jamiealfa Welcome to HMVF the source of all knowlage. Always loved Sabres :-) Where in Herts are you?
11. From what I understand they work from your browsing history so as I bought something online from oak furniture land the other week all I get is oak furniture land adds!!!!! I'VE BEEN THERE AND BOUGHT WHAT I WANT, I'M A MAN, I WAS TOLD WHAT TO BUY AND WHERE TO GET IT (god i hope i got the right one or she'll kill me) !!!!! LOL . I don't think I have ever clicked on one, so for me they don't make me spend my hard earn't bucks.
12. Love your attention to detail Capt, a great job. Did you really need to put a new hinge on the grenade box above?
13. Admin, do you get paid per click? If so, I'll start clicking on them C.

15. Looking again, they are smaller than I thought looking at the photos. 2" Dia! ????
16. They only have one inlet / outlet tat I can see so I'm not sure how good at cooling thay could be as its only works on convection. Would love to know what they are though! I wait to see as someone on here must know what they are.
17. Had my wolf90 as my daily drive for 3 months now and have no regrets. She will took over from a Land Rover Discovery and will be my daily drive for many, many years to come. :-)
18. Loved it :-) It was like films used to be, when something goes boom its actually going boom and little or no CGI involved. Thought the bond between the actors was great too. Can't see much wrong with the ending, after the decision was made you'd do the same thing and fight with everything you've got. Although having see loads of war movies I still recon all bad guys need to visit the range more often as they can't hit a barn door! C.
19. As per title. Thats my Thursday evening soerted :-) C.

22. Thanks Nick, I like my landy to be neat and tidy, shame the same thing can't be said for my kitchen!
