  1. With regards to the cork seal inside the hub, I am currently trialing a rubber replacement seal. The cork seals leak something terrible. I have carefully cut a rubber strip the same dimension as the cork strip and fitted it today. I will assemble it back together tomorrow and see what happens. Surely rubber will do a better job than cork. Has anyone else done this?
  2. and this thing? I have a swag of these things.
  3. Size, distance scaling, using a table fork. Hey, im an ex infantryman, we use whatever we can put our hand too.
  4. I have about a hundred sets of these things. Again, I assume they are for radios. Possibly a mounting. The tag states LV9/ASC FV55750 'Bracket Assembly.
  5. Thanks mate. I will post a couple more pictures tomorrow of some other stuff ive dug out, which is causing me to scratch my head.
  6. Ive got new brake bands NOS and most everything else NOS if you need any. Just let me know if you need anything. Good luck. Regards, OZITIM
  7. I think in reality, I will need to travel down to Pucka and organise a day to do it myself.
  8. So no one knows what these things are?
  9. Thats all I have too. The guy from Pucka said that they have a collection of Ferret photos in service, and I've asked him if I could have copies of those pictures. The only way we would ever know is if we were lucky enough to find a photo of a vehicle with the number on it, and that photo is referenced to a unit.
  10. Hi all, I just got off the phone to the Australian Armoured museum at Puckapunyal. I was asking if their was any means through which I could track the history of a Ferret that served with Aust Army. Apparently before they were disposed of, the log books went missing. Does anyone know a way inwhich these vehicles histories can be tracked. Do the respective associations have lists of vehicles used? Any ideas appreciated. Regards, OZITIM
  11. Two more things! Indexing mechanism heavy duty? What ever that is, but I have a bunch of them. and Plates, Escutcheon, brass, whatever that is? Again, Im guessing they are radio things.
  12. OK, thanks mate. Here is a photo of them in use. Im not a radio guy, so am not familiar with this world. I have dozens of these little things, still in their boxes. These are a lot easier to post that the Film scales.
  13. Surely someone must know. I have quite a few of the orange things. Wondering what they are.
  14. You will have to join the Ferret fun in Cairns before you head over there!
  15. What are these? Image number 4, the orange thing. It has written on it 'Open this and rear cap before use'! I have no idea what this is! Image 5, has a label on it stating 'Lock and remote control RH Door'. FV199604. Also found in a collection of Ferret parts. Guessing that the Ferret has no doors, probably not for Ferret! Any Guesses.
  16. Well well well well. That would make sense. Where I have acquired this collection of parts, they also have a bit of Cent parts mixed in with it. Very interesting. Thats exactly what it will be. Hmmmm, now what to do with the dozen or so, I have. If anyone with a cent wants one, let me know. happy to pass one one.
  17. Im just looking at the cheapest postage option at the moment. Im seeing how many are wanted and might be better to send as a bulk lot. But give me this week to make the relevant enquiries regarding the cost of freight. Tim
  18. That was my next plan. Their is a great guy, about an hour from me with a Brit 1/2 who I have to go and take a visit and do some measurements. I was just hoping that someone might have had one propped up against the back fence, and was sick of the grass growing around it.
  19. Hmmm, interesting. Thats the best idea yet
  20. No problems mate. Im heading down to the post office tomorrow to work out the postage cost. I will get back to you on the cost over the weekend.
  21. Old mate wants $85k AUd for it. Thats fairly top heavy, I would have thought. Thats about 42 thou brit pounds.
  22. If anyone could find me a turret lid for the mk1/2 I would love to hear from you. This one has been cut off with a gas axe, presumably to make a BBQ.
  23. the hull number is 516.B.10.4. Build date October 1954. The turret was with the hull, but not attached. Tim Vibert imported a number of Ferrets into Australia about ten years ago, and some of them were mk1/2, but they all retain their fixed turrets. I have no idea where this one came from. Maybe it was sent to Australia as a mod trial.
  24. I wonder how many are in private hands in Australia and if they were interested in selling one. I think a CVRT could be my next piece of Armour. Does anyone know what 8 tonnes of tracked vehicle would be to import to Aust? OZITIM
  25. No takers??? No ideas???
