  1. Hi, the matador is the 5.5 gun tractor, the Scammell was the gun tractor for the 7.2 on the old 8" carriage and a variety of pre war guns, The 5.5 was the only gun I could find as the majority of 7.2s were given to the Indian army after the war. I do have ammunition boxes, drill round bag charges, dummy shell and a couple of fuses along with most of the equipment strapped to the gun if that is any help.
  2. If it is the sight I think it is it should have a soft rubber eye piece that perishes and falls off. Might help if you have to haggle for it.
  3. Thanks to Ed and Trevor, when I am next down there will try and have a look, many thanks.
  4. Hi Trevor, looks fairly complete, shame to see it neglected like that. Where abouts is it?
  5. Hi, mine was delivered in December 1940. According to the chassis build sheet in was supplied with single headlamp drivers windscreen wiper, no spare wheel, camouflaged and with wd numbers applied.
  6. The offside king pin was seized solid on the top bush due to years of water ingress. It took two drivers pulling hard to have any effect on the steering. I eventually managed to remove the king pin and bush together. It took 22 tons in a hydraulic press to separate them.
  7. This was how I found my R100 in 1995, if I had not bought her when I did there was a scrap man who was going to cut her for the engine.
  8. Bit late, Thought you might like a photo of my 5.5.
  9. Hi, try Preston at Cobbaton combat collection, I had a lot of bits for my 5.5 of him.
  10. Hi Niels, did you buy Parry Davies Pioneer? He does not live very far from me.
  11. Hi Mel, nice to hear from you, yes I still have the 5.5. i have seen some nice photos of your outfit lately. Either a windscreen or the MVT calender so I guess you are still having fun with it.
  12. I have lots of photos but I am trying to figure out how I can up load them it is not easy to see what you are doing with an I phone
  13. Hi my name is Mark Williams, I live in Shropshire. I own a Scammell pioneer R 100 gun tractor which I saved from the scrap mans torch in 1995 in a very rough condition. I restored her over a two year period, attending the first few shows as a running restoration. I collected two more pioneers over the years with an Sv2 and TRMU30 both saved in similar circumstances but due to health problems let them go to new owners. Have enjoyed looking at the Scammell pioneer gallery and thought it was time I joined.
