  1. have you tried putting a little fuel straight in the bore (after taking the plug out) ?, is the plug new ? regards

  4. since putting her to bed, i have`nt had a chance to get down there, i will in the next couple of weeks and have a look for the brakes air pack which i`m sure is hiding somewhere underneath, hows things your end going ? :-D regards

  6. i will ask for you, after taking the pics i did think you might not want it as i thought it too far gone ......... there is a rear axle there as well regards
  7. have had another look at the front end today, there is a mag/distributor on it, the inlet manifold is broken off, so no carb, but it might be in/on the ground as the front end was upside down before it was righted recently, the radiator is there along with the rear axle. the condition is slightly worse than the one you are trying to restore ! i will be back on sunday morning with a camra and will post the pics on here :-D regards

  9. i found this link on another forum www.freel2.com/forum/topic878.html i must say since ive been doing it my VW Transporter T5 is a lot quieter is anyone on here putting it in their diesel fuel ? 330ml of 2so to 70 litres of diesel regards
  10. although mine had been running for some years like this with the previous owner, when i stripped it out i found the bores in good fettal and they only needed a honing, 6 yrs ago when i did this the parts (pistons, rings, little ends, big ends, mains and full engine gasket set) came to £100 from jeep parts, there was nothing wrong with the bearings, i just changed them as i had it apart good luck
  11. the problem i had when i first brought mine was that it was running rough, i took the engine oil filler cap off whilst it was running to see a plume of smoke coming out like a steam engine :cry:...............every piston had broken rings, hopefully yours won`t be the same regards

  13. all the round roof ones only gun port was always left as if it was covering the beach and the next one up, no looking holes out to sea which seemed rather strange :-D
